Implants need a 3D scan to plan properly, and our team will go through the scan options with you when they call to book.

Bone grafting or a different implant approach may be possible, depending on your anatomy. A clinical examination and 3D imaging are needed to determine your suitability. That's exactly what the 3D scan is for. Both dentists who place implants here are trained in bone grafting.

Fair worry. Local anaesthetic is generally used during implant placement to help manage discomfort. Some swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur afterwards, and your dentist gives you personalised aftercare instructions. If you'd prefer, twilight sedation is available here, provided by a visiting dental sedationist. Sedation fees are charged separately from your treatment fees, and we can talk them through at your consultation.

Treatment time varies. An implant usually needs time to integrate with the bone, so it may take several months from placement to the final tooth. Minor grafting can sometimes be done at the same time as the implant and may add little or no healing time. More extensive grafting is often done first and left to heal for at least four months. You get your own timeline at the consultation, in writing.
